Resilience Starts with You: The Role of Observability in Building Stronger Ops

Observability Stéphane Estevez

Hey DevOps and IT Ops friends,

Have you ever paused to think about what “digital resilience” really means for our teams today? I have and I’m genuinely excited that we’re finally kicking off Splunk Digital Resilience Week 2025. This event’s designed with tech practitioners in mind (Yes, I mean you, the ones who clear the incident queue and troubleshoot the unexplainable at 2 AM).

Throughout the week, we’ll hear from industry experts about how technology leaders balance risk and opportunity - from a cybersecurity perspective (think powering the SOC of the future, simplifying analyst workflows with AI) and through the ever-growing lens of Observability. As much as I love a good debate about SIEM use cases or next-gen SOC, I have to be honest: my real passion is Observability, so that’s what I am eager to dive into.

Our observability sessions are packed with useful, hands-on content. We’ll show how to move from simply reacting to problems to actually anticipating and preventing them. There’s a dedicated focus on building a rock-solid data collection strategy using OpenTelemetry (no more mysterious data blobs!), plus a deep dive into what “network observability” really means and why it’s suddenly on everyone’s roadmap.

Honestly, I’m most excited about my own session: “Observability Myths Busted.” We’ll cut through all the industry noise, show you how to spot real value versus vendor hype, and help you steer clear of the classic “observability-washing” trap. If you’ve ever felt lost in a sea of buzzwords (trust me, I have too), this one’s for you.

Digital resilience isn’t just a boardroom buzzword - it’s what keeps our systems running, our data moving, and our sanity (mostly) intact. If you’re looking for practical ideas, honest conversations, and a little inspiration for your next big move, grab your (virtual) seat here: https://discover.splunk.com/Digital-Resilience-EMEA-2025.html

Hope to see you there,

Stephane
